About Me
I am an artist through and through. Having grown up in dance and theater I have spent my life in front of crowds and cameras. Having booked my first national tour while in college, I have spent the last 10 years working in the arts as a dancer, choreographer and costume designer; on stage, behind the scenes and in front of cameras.
My fascination with photography stems back to my childhood. Growing up with my grandparents and analog film cameras I learned the value of good equipment and capturing memories. On top of this, my mother worked in a camera shop when I was a child , so I was kind of surrounded by cameras.
Fast forward to University. I started my collegiate journey at London's prestigious Central Saint Martin's School of Art and Design. I intended to study fashion design, but the school had other plans for me. When it came time to move into the second year of schooling, my advisors told me they were going to put me in a photography program. I didn't want to hear it (how silly of me), so I left London. I then transferred to Temple University Japan, in Tokyo. Here I studied art and design with a focus in digital media as a medium. It's from this that I re-established my connection to fine art, as well as photography.
I have truly been busy with other things over the past 10 years. I have lived in New York City, Shanghai, Tokyo, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Most of my work has been in dance throughout this time, working in theater, touring, working commercially, and teaching but I have recently re-established my active love for portraiture again. I enjoy utilizing my love of fashion, movement, dance, and art to try and bring out things in my subjects that they might not have seen themselves.
I truly don't know what will come of having this site, but I do hope to build my client base, continue to improve my style, and to bring photos and memories to people who would like them.
To you, my best.
